Early Morning Provision
Our Lady School offers extra teaching to various individuals or groups of learners who need support with an aspect of the curriculum or building self- esteem or an agreed reason.
This provision takes the form of the child arriving at 8:30 am and receiving from the head teacher, teachers or teaching assistant s one or more of the following:
- 1:1 help with reading/writing or homework support.
- Science vocabulary and spelling
- Maths group work
- Reading comprehension individual and group work
- Mental arithmetic and tables learning
- Precision maths
- Writing group
This provision is offered, without any financial cost, because committed staff want to do the very best they can for the children in the school. The decision on which children are offered this additional support comes from the class teacher, inclusion manager and the head teacher.
Each term, a new ‘Early Morning Provision’ timetable is drawn up for the school and parents are individually written to inviting their child to attend.
Mrs Tye, the school Inclusion Manager organises the provision and meets with parents as required to discuss any of the support offered.
This Early morning provision has been running for over six years, attendance is almost 100% and impact is seen in both progress, achievement and self-esteem.
