From September 2017 the school will offer tuition in guitar, piano and violin on a fee-paying basis.
The cost of a 30 minute group lesson (3-4 pupils) will be £80.00 per term and a 30 minute shared lesson (2 pupils) will be £115.00 per term. The group and shared arrangements will depend on the teacher’s assessment of the children’s abilities. The cost for individual lessons will be £115.00 for 15 minutes, £150.00 for 20 minutes and £225.00 for 30 minutes. The lesson fees are based on 33 lessons taken over the academic year.
Parents in receipt of Income Support or Income-Based Job Seekers Allowance can apply for remission of music fees although there is a waiting list. Parents in receipt of the maximum amount of remission will be required to pay £20 per term towards the cost. Applicants who are in receipt of Family Credit, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit or Disability Working Allowance can apply to receive 50% remission. Applications can be made on-line at www.hertsdirect.org/scholearn/canhelp/ or by calling 0300 123 4048.
Tuition may be available for these instruments from September for the following age groups:
Violin & Guitar Year 2-6 Piano Year 3-6
If you would like to apply for tuition please complete the application form below and return it to the school office as soon as possible. Children will need to have the requested instrument at home to allow them to practise, the music teachers are happy to offer advice about this. Children may also need to be assessed by the relevant teacher before being accepted. Please note that a complete half term’s written notice is required to cancel lessons.
If your child is already having lessons there is no need to complete the form. If your child does not wish to continue with their lessons in September 2017 the attached slip must be returned to the school by 5 June 2017. Please note that current Y6 music pupils do not need to do anything. If Y6 pupils wish to continue music tuition in Y7, please contact the music department at their new school.
