Volunteering in School

Our school has a number of greatly valued parents who regularly come into school to help in various ways; reading with children, helping in the library, cooking with the children and helping out in the classroom. If you would like to join these volunteers you will be required to apply for a DBS check, in addition to signing the Volunteers Working in School Policy. If you would like to apply for a DBS check please make an appointment at the school office. You will be required to provide 3 forms of identification; preferably a valid passport, photo driving licence including the paper section and a proof of address.

Volunteering for a School Trip

If you would like to help out on a school trip you will be required to sign the Volunteers Off Site Agreement which can be downloaded below or collected from the school office. You may also be required to apply for a DBS check depending on the nature of the trip. Please contact the school office for further information. You will also need to sign our volunteers register confirming that you are aware of the school's safeguarding policies and procedures and where they can be found.

A very big thank you to all parents who help out in school, your help is tremendously appreciated.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)

The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) have merged to become the Disclosure and Barring Service
(DBS). CRB checks are now called DBS checks. Standard DBS checks are required for everybody who works or volunteers in the school, excluding those parents who participate in class shared reading on a Wednesday morning.
